Our Feet
We expect a lot from our feet; they carry our entire weight, we stuff them into our socks and shoes and (for many of us) we walk a considerable amount on a daily basis. Yet they are often the most neglected part of the body!
The feet can in fact indicate many things about our health.
A little about ReflexologyThe origins of reflexology can be traced back to about 2330 B.C. In 1913, Dr. William Fitzgerald, M.D., rediscovered zone therapy. He found that pressure on certain reflex points helped corresponding body organs function more normally and also to decrease pain. This practice has come to be known as Reflexology.
How Reflexology Works
There are several theories about how reflexology works. One point of view says that each of the 7,200 nerve endings in the feet connects to a different area of the body. By direct pressure on specific areas of the foot, we send a stimulation to the corresponding body area.
Reflexology is the practice of applying pressure to the feet and hands utilizing specific thumb, finger and hand techniques based on this system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands with a premise that such work effects a physical change in the body.
Reflexology is a wonderful way to combat stress and fatigue. The treatment itself is extremely and instantly relaxing, enabling the body to re balance itself during and after the sessions. For particular conditions and imbalances, specific points of the body can be targeted by stimulating and applying pressure to the relevant parts of the feet and hands, helping the body to move and eliminate toxins and to regain the strength to re balance itself. If you suffer from any of the following, then Reflexology can definitely help:-
Stress
Headaches & Migraine
Digestive Disorders
Respiratory Problems
Infertility, PMT & Menstrual Symptoms
Insomnia
Arthritis
Reflexology is also wonderful for Pregnant Mum's To Be (anxious Father's too!) and post natal Mums.
